Hi, my name is Paula Thomas and I produce all of the ‘Today’ magazines

I grew up in Tickhill, left for University at 18, followed by a career in Banking, which took me to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man and then I returned to Tickhill with my (then) young family late in 2004.  

Having left my role with Barclays Bank behind in the Isle of Man, and wanting to use my degree in business management and marketing, I was searching for a business idea, when I came across the opportunity to produce local magazines.  Having struggled to find a good source of local information I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to help local businesses and provide local residents with a fabulous source of local information.

Tickhill Today started in March 2005 and proved so successful that I soon started to receive requests from businesses and residents for the same thing for other areas, so over the next few years Rossington Today, Bawtry Today, Bessacarr & Cantley Today and Harworth & Bircotes Today were all added to the ‘Today’ family!

The magazines have proven to be well received within the local community and the response from residents has been fantastic. Many of our Advertisers tell us they receive more response from our magazines than any other form of advertising!

The Magazines

The magazines are community focused and provide a convenient method for local businesses, clubs, societies, organisations and schools to promote themselves to local residents. Essentially, they are:

• Monthly residents A5 magazines, for local businesses and services to advertise in.
• More than just directories, they also contain reviews, editorial features, community news and events, useful telephone numbers & more.
• High quality, the magazines are full colour and are printed to a high standard on quality gloss paper.
• Delivered free once a month to nearly 30,000 homes, by our own reliable distribution team, as well as being placed into
• Doctor’s surgeries, dentists, libraries, community centres etc.
• Produced by local people, for local people, supporting local businesses and communities.

In addition, this website is designed to work alongside the magazine, providing easy access to contact details for the businesses and organisations featured, even when a copy of the magazine is not to hand.
