The award-winning and critically acclaimed balletLORENT bring their latest dance theatre fairytale, Snow White to Cast, Doncaster on Friday 30 to Saturday 31 October.

Choreographed and directed by balletLORENT’s Artistic Director Liv Lorent MBE and retold by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, Snow White is the second of the company’s trilogy of fairytale productions.

Liv Lorent says, “We have found so much to love in the story of Snow White. It is full of darkness and light, like the very best fairytales often are.”

Snow White reunites a team of world-renowned collaborators who created Rapunzel including aforementioned Poet Laureate Dame Carol Ann Duffy (Whitbread, T.S. Eliot and Pinter Prize winner), five time BAFTA nominated composer Murray Gold (Doctor Who), and the Royal Northern Sinfonia – the North East’s leading professional orchestra.

Carol Ann Duffy says “It’s a joy and a thrill to be collaborating once again with Liv Lorent and her creative team and to be bringing to life another seminal fairytale to family audiences who love dance or who have yet to discover it.”

Three new collaborators join the artistic team for Snow White: Olivier Award-winning actress Lindsay Duncan (Narrator), costume illustrator for HBO’s Game of Thrones Libby Everall (Costume Designer) and renowned soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, who performed at the Paralympics Opening Ceremony in London, 2012.

12 children local to Doncaster will join the company’s 11 strong professional ensemble for Snow White: Frida Grace Cotton (9), Harriet Lily Embery (8), Beau-Lucy Evans-Booth (6), Ava Fletcher Bedford (8), Noah Glossop (7), Libby Louise Green (8), Tilly Green (8), Rebekah He (7), Madeline Rose Lockwood (8), Brooklyn Parkinson (9), Summer Rae Sutton (7), Madison Paige Worthington (9).

Liv says: “The age range we have worked with in this project is a profoundly important. At this age, children often have innate talent, a lack of self-consciousness, physical beauty in movement, and an urgency for self-expression which can be captured and channeled to great effect through projects like ours.”

Snow White premieres at Northern Stage, Newcastle on 16 October, and will tour across the UK before premiering in Yorkshire at Cast and completing its tour at London’s Sadler’s Wells.

Tickets for Snow White from Friday 30 to Saturday 31 October at Cast are £17 / £14 concessions, family tickets are £52 available on 01302 303 959 or by visiting
