SWIMMERS from Rossington Amateur Swimming Club are set to host a party to mark the Golden Anniversary of Rossington Community Swimming Pool.
The centre, run by Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust, offers swimming lessons and community swimming sessions as well as lifeguard training in Rossington village.
Kraig Kelly, head of Leisure at Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust said: “On June 30 Rossington Community Swimming Pool will be 50 years old. During that time thousands of people will have learned to swim in the pool and most families from the village will have had some connection with the venue. It is great that the swimming club who use the facilities are marking the occasion with a special golden get together. The centre is now also a thriving hub of training activity thanks to the DCLT Training Academy, which operates from the Rossington base.”
“A number of training programmes and apprenticeships are managed by the Training Academy from the centre equipping people with employability skills, first aid certificates, lifeguard training and educational certificates to name but a few. We are pleased to see the centre now welcoming more visitors than before and to see it playing a key role in the Rossington community.”
The celebration event, run by Rossington ASC will take place for swimmers who have in the past, or currently swim with the club, at Rossington Welfare on July 2.
