RETAIL in Doncaster welcomes a new face as a new centre manager takes up the reins at Lakeside Village.
John Magee, aged 33, joins the team at the popular outlet shopping village, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, from Freeport Fleetwood where he was centre manager for two years.
He will take over from Cheryl Sadler who is retiring from the post after 15 years.
John said: “I am delighted to be joining the fantastic team at Lakeside Village. The outlet has a real buzz about the place and has a place at the heart of the Doncaster community. From the free family entertainment they put on to the phenomenal fundraising that takes place throughout the year, it is going to be a great place to work.”
“I’ve moved to South Yorkshire and have been amazed by the welcome I’ve already received!”
Starting with a weekend role at WH Smith in Manchester at the age of 16, John has built his retail career, working at a major supermarket and then onto a graduate trainee role at Debenhams where he worked in eight stores over nine years.
“I’ve heard lots about the loyal customers who shop at Lakeside Village and I am really looking forward to working with the team to make sure that we have the best possible retail offer to meet their needs.
“Cheryl has been at the helm of the centre for 15 years where she has done an amazing job, we all wish her the very best for her next adventures.
“This is a great time to be coming to Doncaster as Lakeside Village is about to celebrate one of its legendary Hot deals events, on October 29, Halloween half term fun is underway, we have Christmas around the corner and new stores set to open in the next few weeks.”
